People First of Richland County is an advocate for people with all types of disabilities. Joe Simon is the President of the local organization, however we have been asked to contact Diane Burgette at the above number for more information. People First has Recreational Activities and offers Educational Opportunities to its members. People First Wisconsin is a nationwide organization for people with disabilities. They are dedicate to enabling people with disabilities to have their voices heard. In addition the mission is to: Educate people with disabilities, including children & youth with disabilities about their rights; assist people with disabilities to figure out what they want to do with their lives, and how to make these dreams come true; educate the public about the rights and strengths of people with disabilities, and what they need from the public to be successful; help local self-advocacy groups to get started and get stronger; help individuals and local self-advocacy groups get to know each other, learn from each other and work together; and work toward closing all institution and making life in the community a human right for people with disabilities
