Rural Housing is a non-profit organization providing small, one-time financial assistance to rural residents with issues related to housing. Rural Housing provides financial assistance with security deposits to people moving into a new rental home. Rent assistance and utility payment assistance for overdue charges are also common. In addition, Rural Housing may provide assistance with overdue property taxes and mortgage payments. The limit of assistance is generally $450 and is available one time only. If the landlord returns the security deposit after a client leaves, those who receive security deposit assistance are once again eligible to apply for security deposit assistance.
