Description:
Home Care for the Veteran - Assist w/bathing, dressing, transfering, toileting; Alzheimer's and other types of dementia; veterans who live alone and have trouble caring for themselves; veterans who cannot be left alone and have a caregiver who needs respite.
Homemaker Services - Designed to help veterans in need of light housekeeping, meal preparation, or errands. For veterans who either live alone or have caregivers who are impaired and not capable of doing household chores.
In-Home Respite - VA may provide an aide from a licensed home health agency to come to your home and stay with the veteran if the veteran cannot be left alone. This provides an opportunity for the caregiver to leave home to do errands, etc. These are limited to 30 days per year and no more than 6 hours per day. (Respite is also available at Tomah VA when several days at a time are needed.) Financial assessment and a co-payment may apply for respite services.
Community Adult Day Health Care - Authorizes care for eligible veterans in a community adult daycare setting providing health maintenance, social interaction, and rehabilitative services. Financial assessment and a co-payment may apply.
Home Health Aide Services - Provides an aide from a licensed home health agency to come to the veteran's home and assist with bathing and personal cares.
