Description:
Project Search: Provides assistance to individuals with developmental, cognitive, and physical disabilities and mental illness in obtaining and retaining employment with area businesses.
Project SEARCH is a trademarked and copyrighted model of employment training for students with disabilities* in their last year of school eligibility. Students are immersed in a business environment five days a week, where they learn a variety of job skills during three 10-week internship rotations, as well as, employability skills through classroom training. The Green Bay Project SEARCH host business is a joint venture with Bellin Health and HSHS St. Vincent Hospital. Other program partners include: ASPIRO (lead agency), CESA 8, and Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development - Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
Program success is measured by the number of interns who obtain year-round competitive employment in an integrated setting within one year of completing their internships, for 16 or more hours a week at minimum wage or higher.
