Senior center emphasis is on the Asian elder (60 +). Activities and staff focus on maintaining or increasing independence and personal growth in a safe and nurturing environment. Most services are free, however, there may be a fee for special classes.
The Senior Meal Program provides a daily hot lunch and other activities. Lunches are fully balanced meals, including entrée, sides, dessert and beverage. Low-fat and chocolate milk and low-carb desserts are available. Ethnic meals (Chinese) are prepared on site. Volunteers help serve meals and also reach out to other older adults. Program staff provide information, outreach and referral information about other community services.
Meals are served Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Call for reservations between 9:30 am - Noon; or register on-site one day in advance of attendance. This location is not wheelchair accessible.
All participants must register (9:30am-11:15am) and receive a diners card. Once registered, participants may use their diners card to make a reservation at any Milwaukee County Senior Meal Dining Center. Reserve your meal at least one day in advance by phone or at the senior dining site before Noon.
A suggested contribution of $3 per meal helps the Senior Meal Program with the cost of the meal. To access menus by the month and locate meal sites at the Milwaukee County Department on Aging web site listed.
