Description:
The Assistive Technology Department focuses on finding creative ways for individuals to communicate, and provides alternative options for accessing technology, such as tablets and computers, at home or in the work place. Assessments, equipment trials and training opportunities are available for those who require an alternative communication set up due to a physical disability and/or cognitive challenges. Services are offered to those who have spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, brain injury, cerebral palsy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and others. A loan closet of augmentative devices is available for those who were born without voice or have lost the ability to speak.
