Description:
The Section 8 voucher program is a federally funded rental subsidy program for low-income families in the Dodgeville area. The program enables participants to afford a decent and safe residence. In general, a family pays 30% of their adjusted gross income for rent and utilities, and the program pays the balance up to a maximum fair market value determined by the US Dept of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). You are eligible if your household's total income in below 50% of Iowa County's median income. Check w/ Dodgeville Housing Authority to determine whether you qualify. Program eligibility does not mean that you will receive rental assistance immediately. If you qualify, you will be placed on a waiting list pending availability of vouchers. Once you qualify you may choose any reasonably priced place that passes on an HQS inspection. You may stay in your current residence if it passes.
Eligibility: 50% of County Median
