Raab's AFH I is a licensed adult family home with a 4-bed capacity. They accept both male and female consumers. They provide respite care if space is available.
An adult family home may vary in size, type, location. From rural houses to city homes; they provide shelter, privacy, and a place for everyday activities. Even beyond that, the home is where the family can socialize, work and have fun. Most importantly, living with a family provides a natural setting for people of all ages and abilities to relate to and find a place in the community.
An AFH provides the structure and support needed to help residents maintain their skills and learn new ones to allow them to live independently as possible. It enables some residents to move to a more independent living arrangement and for others, delays the need for institutional care.
AFHs also provide an opportunity for involvement in family and community activities. An AFH may be the best place for adults to reside who have a greater need for emotional support.
Eligibility: 18 years or older who, because of conditions of aging or mental/physical disability, cannot live alone. Area served: Monroe area.
