The Salvation Army, an international movement is an evangelical part of the Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human need in His name without discrimination.
Emergency one time help per year is available for those who qualify. Referral can be made by anyone but prefer a professional referral if unknown to the agency. This attempts to fill gaps in County Social Service system when needed and coordinate agency cooperation to meet a need.
General Funds:
Local overnight lodging, gas, food, and short term emergency help.
The Salvation Army has limited funds to assist with prescription costs - usually a onetime amount. The target group is senior citizens and needy school age children. School nurse is the gate keeper. School Nurse also has a few Shopko eye care vouchers for glasses, frames, and exams for low-income students.
The target group is needy individuals within Green County and they will make referral to other counties through the main office in Wauwatosa.
Temporary transients referred to the Monroe Police Department or the Green County Sheriff Department. The Wisconsin State Patrol also provides assistance when needed. Vouchers are available 24/7 at the Monroe Police Department or the Green County Sheriff's Department.
