Description:
The Area Agency on Aging of Milwaukee County receives Federal funds to provide assistance with home and community based services and programs that affirm the dignity of older adults by supporting their choices for living in and giving to our community.
Through these funds provided by the federal Older American's Act, the state of Wisconsin and Milwaukee County, we sponsor contracts with local service providers to operate a variety of programs including: Senior nutrition programs, Transportation, Senior Centers, Senior Law Benefit Specialist, Family Caregiver Support Network, Health and Wellness Programs, Alzheimer's Disease, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Demographic and population statistics, Community Outreach Education and staff Milwaukee County Commission on Aging.
In addition, when older adults and their families need to make decisions about in-home care, counseling services are available to assist them. Our long-term care staff are able to conduct in-home assessments to determine need, provide information and services to meet those needs, develop appropriate care plans, and arrange for funding for services (when applicable).
Contact the Aging Resource Center of Milwaukee County' Call Center at 414-289-6874 for information on specific services for older adults 60 years old or older.
