Employment Services provide adults with disabilities the opportunity to gain employment skills while earning wages in a production environment. At VARC, individuals have the added benefit of experiencing the integrated employment (working alongside non-disabled employees.)
Day Services is designed to develop skills in the areas of employment, daily living, social activities, basic academics, and community living. An individualized program is developed to assist each participant to gain the necessary skills to live fulfilling and productive lives.
Transportation is available to all individuals at VARC. Our fleet of over 20 buses and vans travel throughout Vernon, Sauk, and Richland counties, providing door-to-door service. Our well-trained drivers accommodate the special needs of all passengers and provide safe, reliable transportation.
The Residential Services program provides a variety of home environments for adults with disabilities. Individuals may choose from VARC House (an eight bed community-based residential facility in Viroqua),Maple Street House (a four bed community- Viroqua), supported apartments (where residents may live alone or with a roommate), or a shared home (with live-in providers). Staff provides skills training and support to residents to help them reach their greatest potential, independent growth.
Community-based Employment offers a spectrum of services leading to paid employment in the community. Services include: 1)Evaluation work adjustment training,2) Supported Employment, 3) School-to-work transition, and 4) Placement.
Referrals are accepted from schools, families, counties, and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. Employment staff helps individuals obtain jobs and provide on-going training and support necessary to maintain employment.
