Description:
Department of Social Services is the lead agency for elder abuse in Oneida County. Abuse is defined as physical abuse, material (financial) abuse, neglect, or self-neglect of a person who is age 60 or oder. Department of Social Services works with other local agencies (Law Enforcement, Department on Aging, etc.) to investigage allegations and offer services. All calls are kept confidential.
Assistance in accessing social services programs including Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP), Medicaid, Community Options (COP), Medical Waiver Programs(CIP II and COP-W), lead Elder Abuse agency, Adult Protective Services, Supportive Home Care, SSI-E Certificate as well as a variety of children's services.
