Vilas County Commission on Aging is your "Senior Resource Center" committed to providing programs and information designed to enhance the quality of life for older adults. Services provide opportunities for choices, encourage health and wellness, and living independently. Even if your loved one lives out of Vilas County, or even out-of-state. we will help you access the services and agencies you need. There is no charge for services unless noted. A variety of volunteer activities are available for volunteers of all ages. Escort drivers, Friendly Visitors, and delivering meals to shut-ins are some of the volunteer needs. Mileage reimbursement is available for some volunteer duties. Income tax assistance. Some other services are Alzheimer's Family Caregiver support program, Chore Service, Elderly Benefit Specialist, Family Caregiver Support Program, Home Delivered Meals, Information and Assistance, Senior Dining Site, Transportation Services and Volunteer Opportunities. Provides informational programs on health and wellness to enrich the quality of life. Three such workshopr are: Powerful tools for caregiving, living well with Chronic conditions and stepping on.
