Description:
DRW provides advocacy for people with disabilities who have been discriminated against neglected, abused, or denied a needed service or program based on a disability:
-deinstitutionalization
-the right to receive services in the least restrictive environment
-right to a free and appropriate public education (special education)
-the right to be free of abuse or neglect by service or residential treatment providers
-discrimination in housing, employment, or public accommodations
DRW does NOT provide advocacy for people with disabilities who need legal assistance with bankruptcies, traffic ticket cases, criminal cases, or family law issues such as child custody, child support, or divorce.
Eligibility: DRW provides advocacy assistance to children/adults with disabilities who have had their rights denied based on a disability.
