Description:
This agency meets the medical, psychological and spiritual needs of patients facing serious or terminal illness and their families through palliative, hospice and bereavement services. Patients are helped to remain living in their own homes but services are also available in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and hospitals. Care is provided by teams of nurses, home care aides, social workers, physicians, counselors, chaplains and volunteers. Many of the services offered are covered by Medicare. As a non-profit organization, community donations help ensure care for underinsured patients.
