Description:
Family and Community Services Unit
The FCS Unit serves individuals from infancy through late adulthood. The programs within the unit are consumer-centered and the goals of the programs are aimed at maximizing independence and access to community resources. The unit adheres to the agency’s mission to become more trauma informed. The staff members have made a trauma informed perspective shift; they work with consumers to better understand “What has happened to them?” rather than “What is wrong with them?” We have learned that by partnering with families and the community, we are able to better assist families to handle the extreme stress some of them have faced, which may at times impact coping abilities. We understand that trauma is different for all of our families; experiences are respected and approached with a desire to better understand and assist.
Kewaunee County’s FCS Unit consists of the Birth-3 Program, Children’s Long Term Support-Waiver, Children’s Community Options Program, Coordinated Services Teams Program, Adult Protection and the Transportation Program. The team lead for the FCSU is Melissa Annoye. She can be reached at (920)255-5457
