Description:
The Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) serves persons age 60 and over, persons age 18 -59 with disabilities, their families, caregivers and guardians, and their families. Provides information and assistance, completes in-home assessments, makes referrals to appropriate programs and provides limited funding for eligible persons for adult day care, respite, homemaking and emergency alert systems. Other department services for persons age 60 and over include counseling for legal issues and financial benefits, counseling on long-term care options, nutrition programs, and transportation.
Sponsors various educational programs, which are offered to the community throughout the year. Topics include Medicare, Long Term Care, Power of Attorney for Health Care, Local services available to seniors, and other issues of interest to older adults.
Provides assessments of county residents age 60+ and individuals with l disabilities age 18+; staff meets with individuals or families to discuss options for housing, in-home care, community-based services, and eligibility for Family Care and other funding programs.
