Description:
The Children’s Long Term Support waiver serves children under the age of 18 who have a developmental disability, physical disability and those who have a severe emotional disturbance. To qualify for CLTS children must have substantial functional limitations in at least one of the following areas:
Self care, receptive/expressive language, learning, mobility, self direction, capacity for independent living, and economic self sufficiency. In addition to this, children ages 0-3 may qualify for early intervention services if they have significant delays in one or more of the following areas of development: cognition, physical including vision and hearing, communication, social and emotional, and adaptation including self help skills. Children who qualify and are granted a CLTS slot will receive medical assistance funding for community alternatives to institutional placement.
