Provides support, advocacy, and specialized services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault/abuse. Provides life skills to women one on one such as job skills and resume' writing. Also helps displaced homemakers. Accepts donated clothing and household goods to help women and families in transition.
The Women's Community has a Safe Shelter with an informal and supportive setting. Sheltering is available to domestic abuse victims and their children. Emergency food and personal items are provided at the Shelter, with kitchen and laundry facilities. Sheltering may last a few days or several weeks, depending on the individual's and family members' needs.
Programs are customized to meet the needs of Southeast Asian and Hispanic victims.
Offers Sexual Assault support to males affected by violence.
We welcome all clients regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity or ability.
The Women's Community also distributes donated cell-phones for victims of violence to call 9-1-1 in an emergency.
