UW-Madison Legal Information Center - The Legal Information Center (was The Community Law Office) has been an active student organization since 1968. Although its form and management have changed many times, its basic function remains the same. The Legal Information Center provides free legal information and referrals to individuals seeking assistance with legal issues, both students and community residents alike. We can provide basic legal information, legal forms, and similar assistance.
Our service is one intended for UW-Madison students and the less fortunate members of the local community. We do not conduct case law research and we are not able to suggest legal strategies.
We are a referral service. We are primarily for the benefit of UW students. However, we help (or try to help) anyone who calls or stops by.

Please note: The Legal Information Center is staffed by law student volunteers. We are not lawyers and therefore cannot give you legal advice. We can provide you with basic information on relatively simple legal matters and refer you to other sources of assistance.
