Many people who are identified as visually impaired have some remaining vision. The goal of low vision services is to augment one's remaining vision. Low vision therapists provide individual and group consultations to help consumers meet specific goals through education and training sessions. Services include evaluation of aids, and training in the use of low vision aids. In addition to the service providers listed below, check with your local eye care professionals and clinics to determine if low vision services are available in your area. If you are unsure of the services provided in your area you may contact the Wisconsin Optometric Association or the Wisconsin Academy of Ophthalmology to obtain names of providers in your area.
