Description:
Lydia's House is a venture or the Richland County Ministerial Association to provide emergency shelter for homeless persons on winter nights. Homeless persons, those with no place to stay out of the elements for the night will be provided with a warm place to sleep between 6:00pm and 8:00am, Monday through Friday nights, beginning January 3 and ending April 13. There are no arrangements for Saturday and Sunday evenings
The site of the shelter will be rotating between area churches. Call for current locations. Requirements and rules will be explained a the time of check-in. Residents have a 15 night cumulative maximum for a one year period.
It is the hope of the RCMA to facilitate our community in providing for the safety and well-being of those in need of shelter from the elements for the night.
Check in Procedures
When persons check-in they will be asked to complete an application and a criminal background check will be completed for each potential guest.

Single parent with minor children
Two parents with minor children
Single woman without children
Couple without children
**No single men will be admitted unless there are no other residents and, and such men can be turned down at the discretion of the intake person even if there are no other residents. Single men will be discharged daily if there are other qualified residents.
