Description:
Congregate Dining and Home Delivered Meals are provided to prevent malnutrition and promote good health behaviors. Many older adults do not get adequate nutrition, which can impact health conditions and overall quality of life and well-being. Our nutrition program offers a varied menu each month, provides a well balanced meal, and ensures that 1/3 of the USDA recommended daily requirements are contained in each meal served. Hot noon meals are available at 14 nutrition sites throughout the region (Kewaunee and Manitowoc Counties) on varying days. Meals can also be delivered to qualifying home-bound residents.
Who can participate in Congregate Dining?
• Anyone age 60 and older
• Any spouse who attends the dining center with their spouse who is aged 60 or older
• A disabled individual who resides at home with an eligible older individual participating in the program
• A person with a disability, under age 60, who resides in housing facilities occupied primarily by older individuals at which congregate nutrition services are provided.
