Description:
The Salvation Army provides temporary assistance to meet the basic needs of Iowa County residents if their needs cannot be met in any other way. The programs meet the critical and emergency needs of recipients, consistent with existing resources. Anyone who has an emergency is eligible for help from the Salvation Army.
If resources are available, the Salvation Army can provide short-term housing (1 day) and may also be able to give you a voucher to meet a specific emergency such as a threatened utility cutoff, or a need for winter outerwear, a new car battery, a tank of gas, or fresh foods unavailable at the Southwest CAP food pantry. Generally, the Salvation Army can assist with no more than one crisis per recipient per year.
