Description:
The staff provides confidential help and guidance for families in emergency situations and also acts as a family crisis center. The services include emergency distribution of baby furniture, toys and clothing for infants, maternity clothing, children's clothing, outerwear and shoes. Cloth diapers and training pants are also available. There is a small food pantry for emergency. Staff has received Care Link Crisis Pregnancy training.
The center collects and distributes paper products such as Kleenex, toilet paper, paper towels, and dishes. Other items available for emergency distributions are toys, games, books, bedding, house wares, small appliances (such as toasters), and health and beauty products. Emergency items are usually distributed through a questionnaire or by appointment.
Call for information and if no answer, a message may be left on the answering machine that is frequently checked. Normally, there is no delivery of items, just pick-ups. However, some deliveries may be made for the elderly and disabled. Families in crisis have various partnerships with area businesses, including Passages of Richland Center.
