The Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) assists individuals with disabilities who wish to obtain, maintain, or improve their employment.
A consumer may be eligible for the DVR Program if they have a disability and are having problems getting or keeping a job specifically because of the disability. Due to limited funds, DVR cannot assist every disabled worker. People with the most severe limitations to work are served first. DVR maintains a waiting list for services.
DVR has many services. Upon admission to the program the consumer and the counselor will decide which are appropriate. Some of the services available are:
* Guidance & counseling
* Assistance with finding & keeping a job
* Assistive technology that may enable the consumer to meet certain job requirements
* Training for employment opportunities commensurate w/ the consumer's abilities
