From energy improvements to health & safety repairs, for 48 years, our local non-profit has been investing in homes, neighborhoods, communities & people.
Applicants must be residents of Dane or Green Counties. Income for the last 3 months is at or below 150% of the federal poverty level or must have received Fuel Assistance. Home rehabilitation and repair programs allow income eligibility to 80% CMI
Weatherization services are provided at no cost to eligible applicants. In addition, depending upon who their electrical service provider is, eligible applicants may also receive energy-saving appliances, windows or doors for a nominal fee.
The intent is to provide energy conservation to people. This federally-funded grant program, administered by the State of WI Dept. of Administration, Division of Energy, Residential Efficiency Bureau, allows Project Home to provide no-cost weatherization services for single family houses, multi-family buildings and mobile homes.
Trained energy auditors inspect each home to determine which conservation measures would be the most cost effective for that specific residence. Examples of services provided are:
- Attic and sidewall insulation
- Furnace tuning, repair, replacement and cleaning
- Air infiltration reduction
- Caulking
- Weatherstripping
- Some major and minor rehab funds
