Service description:The Sexual Assault Center of Family Services provides services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for victims of sexual violence, and their families and friends. Services are confidential and free of charge. The Sexual Assault Center provides sensitive services to all victims regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, or disability.
Crisis intervention and supportive counseling are available both by telephone and in person. Referrals are made to therapists as needed. An advocate will continue to provide information and emotional support as long as the assistance is requested. An advocate will be available to you at the hospital. The advocate will listen, offer support, and accompany you as you move through the medical process. The advocate will provide information for you to make informed choices. An advocate will support you at the police station if you choose to file a police report. The Sexual Assault Center's legal advocate will provide support and assist you throughout the court process.
A diverse staff is available at the Sexual Assault Center of Family Services to provide services to Hispanic, Southeast Asian, Native American, African American, and developmentally disabled communities. In addition, the Sexual Assault Center provides sensitive services to other populations including elderly, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender victims.
