Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Inc.(LBWN) is a nonprofit organization committed to revitalizing Milwaukee's Silver City, Burnham Park, and Layton Park neighborhoods. The LBWN's goals are to increase property values and homeownership, create and support economic vitality, reduce crime, engage neighbors and improve the quality of life, and serve as a successful model for other urban neighborhoods.
The LBWN offers $1,000 matching home improvement grants to property owners in this service area for exterior improvements that enhance the curb appeal of a home. Grant applications are available on the LGWN website.
The LBWN also coordinates a "Most Improved Home Contest" that offers cash and merchandise prizes to the most impactful exterior home improvements in the neighborhood. Prizes up to $1,000 are available. Contest applications are available on the LBWN website.
The LBWN also can help homeowners apply for other programs, including grants of up to $15,000 for exterior improvements, zero and low-interest home rehab loans, and no-cost home repairs.
Service Area: The neighborhood is located between Miller Park and the Mitchell Park Domes. The neighborhood is bounded by Miller Park Way on the west, Lincoln Avenue on the south, Layton Boulevard on the east and the Menomonee Valley on the north.
