Provides emergency food/shelter/utilties/clothing/medicine/gas, food vouchers/gas cards/ help with rent/utlitity payments.
St Mary's Parish operates St Vincent de Paul for emergency help with food, shelter, and clothing. Funds to assist people is obtained from various factions such as an annual donation from United Givers, church collection, private donations.
Although there is no physical storage facility for St Vincent De Paul, the operation is very similar to how Goodwill is run.
Clients usually call for assistance. Their situation is discussed to determine if it meets criteria. Assistance may be in the form of food vouchers, referrals to a thrift shop for clothing, cash or gift cards. Some help wth rent or other financial needs may be available from $125-$150.
The Resource Center is to make the contact with St Vincent de Paul for the client.
