Options Assistive Technology staff can assess an individual with a disability to determine the role assistive technology could play in achieving independent living goals. Assessments include technology for daily living activities, adaptive phone or computer equipment needs, etc. This also applies to worksite and job accommodations. Options Rehabilitation Technology Specialist provides home evaluations of the accessibility needs for a person with a disability to maximize independence in the home. Additional services include a loan closet of donated medical equipment such as walkers, commodes, scooters, and wheelchairs available for individuals. Try-out equipment is available for demonstration to determine if it will meet the needs of an individual before an individual purchases a piece of equipment. Equipment available includes items such as daily living aids, amplified telephones, adaptive computer equipment etc.
