Also called Life Skills of Wisconsin. This is a 30 week, three hours per week curriculum with an educational focus to equip people with skills for modifying unacceptable behavior and to break cycles of dysfunction. The curriculum is presented through oral presentation, workbook study, group discussion, videos and other visual aides. Life skills are taught to enable each individual to rebuild their life and improve their self-image. Topics covered include: gender differences, overcoming sexual abuse, family roles, guilt and shame, power and control among others. Curriculum can be tailored to age appropriateness beginning with middle school students. If need be, will refer to counselors in the community. There is an initial intake appointment to fill out the necessary paperwork, meet the facilitator, determine fees and address any questions or concerns. The intake appointment must be completed before the class start date. A sliding fee scale is offered as well as scholarships. Classes offered throughout the year.
