Description:

Hospice care is specialized care designed to provide support to you and your loved ones during an advanced illness through medical, spiritual and emotional support services. Hospice care focuses on comfort and quality of life, rather than a cure. The goal of hospice care is to enable you to have an alert, pain-free life and to make each moment of remaining life as full and as comfortable as possible. Beloit Regional Hospice uses a team approach that includes family, nurses, social workers, physicians, clergy and volunteers, all working together to plan and coordinate care. Family or friends providing care can call for the help of the hospice nurse 24 hours a day 7 days a week. A team nurse will come see the patient whenever needed and appropriate.

Hospice care is available as a benefit under Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance.

Beloit Regional Hospice also offers Grief Support Services. Our staff offers guidance and support for those who have suffered a loss through death via our Grief Support Program. Grief support groups and resources are open to anyone in the community who has experienced a death. Meeting with other people who are experiencing similar circumstances provides encouragement and support. Coping skills and various aspects of the grieving process are discussed. The Kids, Teens ‘n’ Grief program of Beloit Regional Hospice provides support to children and youth who are struggling with loss. The BRH staff and volunteers collaborate with school professionals to provide age-appropriate grief support groups during the school day.
